Old News Bandwagon

For a couple of years we (and Durango) have been telling you about water being removed from the creeks and river for gas drilling purposes.  Now that we're in a drought, someone is finally paying attention.  Reminds us of local flooding issues, no one cares, till the rain starts again.

Odd how it all comes back to water.

Thanks to the Watchdog, Don Young, for getting the "news" involved.

Check it out on CBSlocal.com

While many North Texans are being asked to conserve water during a statewide drought, three large pipelines are pulling millions of gallons of water out of the Trinity River in Fort Worth, near West Seventh Street.

Where are the pipelines taking the water? Follow them past raised sidewalk sections and roadway crossings and you will end up at a natural gas well located just outside of Trinity River Park, operated by Chesapeake Energy.

There are several more "quotes" and so called "facts" in the article, but they all made us want to say, BS.

Hey, Tarrant County Backsliders

You're being called out.

What's the difference in a B-36 for the Aviation Museum and the Trinity River Vision?  About $906.5 million...of course that doesn't include all the budget tricks, that aren't included in the final numbers.

What happens when those claiming they can get the federal dollars for the Trinity River Vision backslide?  WHO pays then?  Or will the project be flushed down the toilet? Reminds us of the Dallas Morning News admitting the politicians misled them on their Trinity River Project.  Really?  Even the media can't trust a politician?  Or is the media taking a cue from the politicians and just covering their butt?

Landslide Clyde gives you the scoop.  Don't miss it, YOU can't afford to.  Sounds like there is more to come.  WE can't wait.  And WE appreciate the shout out!

As I scanned the web site www.startelegraph.blogspot.com I was humored by a photo of Congresswoman Kay Granger holding a T-shirt saying “cover your butt”. She should know, I guess. While she pontificates about property values, her son JD is busy with the TRV Authority getting the Tarrant Regional Water District to relieve some people of their property altogether. It’s all about flood control, of course, but if it wasn’t that she’d say it was in the interest of national defense. You’ve got to get up early to beat a Congresswoman to the draw.

Now, years later, after Mayor Mike Moncrief’s task force to create an aviation and space museum has completed the legwork and determined the viability of same, suddenly we can’t raise the money. Say what? The museum consultant (Lord Group) found the potential donors and said it could be done.

So who are the backsliders, the potential donors or the museum board? Aviation has been the biggest mover of our economy, greater than cattle, greater than oil, even greater than prostitution, which flourished into the 90s.
